Ubuntu has actually provides convenience and freedom for its use to install the desired software including additional codecs and libraries that are non opensource through ubuntu software center. However, to do so internet connection is required by the system will be used to download application packages from the repository, other alternatives for that can not be connected directly to the internet is to use offline / local repository that must be downloaded prior to the rather large size.
For those who installed Ubuntu using the CD image and have limited internet connection, here I provide a set of offline installer multimedia applications, libraries and codecs for use on the Ubuntu operating system Oneiric Oncelot 11.10. Offline installer itself can be directly plugged into the system without having to be connected to the internet
